happy thursday! {ed. 10}

so i went on a happy thursday hiatus last week because it was my birthday the day before. (insert cheers)
meaning i used the "it is my birthday and i don't want to do anything" excuse.
you've never used that excuse? well this is awkward...

needless to say i used that excuse on everything (for a solid week), including working out. so last night i went on a run. it wasn't easy, but i kept on telling myself i was running from a kidnapper trying to sell my organs on the black market and it gave me the proper motivation. try it, it works!

current female crush:
lily collins.
i really don't know much about her, other than the fact that her dad is phil collins, she has amazing eyebrows and a great sense of fashion. but really. i don't need to know anymore about her- she is just too adorable.

current male crush:
anthony viglione.
i've heard he is really cool cat. maybe he is so cool because he describes to others what a nuclear meltdown is with complete knowledge and ease. or maybe it is because he is creepily all-knowing when it comes to anime... i dont know, but that is enough reason to make him mr. cool.

current tune:
even though it is summer :)

current quote:

search for the little miracles. it makes all the difference.

until then, happy thursday!

throw it away

that is my response when my parent's say we are having a yard sale.
i get so offended when we have them;
despite the fact that i chose to give away the items, i get upset when i see someone pick up it up then throw it down. don't they know that shirt was all the rage last spring?!
another reason: i can't haggle.
my straight-talkin', italian mouth suddenly leaves me alone and i end up letting that woman walk away with a banana republic blazer for 1.50.

we had a yard sale this past week...

my dad made the day much more bearable by sitting on the recliner we were selling (which people didn't know was for sale because he was sitting on it...) modeling different items every fifteen minutes saying, "red light special!" in an chinese accent. yeah, don't ask...

when he took a break from scaring away the customers this is how i dealt with it.

so yeah, i guess i do like yard sales.
if by yard sales you mean me lounging in the sun drinking a blue raspberry icee.

ice ice baby

This is a non-judging, friendly and all-inviting environment, right? Riiiiiigght?
Okay, good. Because since you signed in your blood (a la Professor Umbridge style) that you would love me for me when logging into this blog oh, you don't remember? Hehehe, I may have jogged your memory...Ooppsie daisy! I feel comfortable in admitting this to you: Vanilla Ice has been on the top 3 list of things on my mind for the past 2 days. stopjudgingme.

In the midst of me washing the dishing today also the prime time to sing "Ice Ice Baby" to myself it dawned on me... One of the most impacting thoughts that has ever entered my mind... One that has completely changed how I look at life... I finally realized how cool Vanilla Ice's name is.

I do not understand how it passed me, truly. I am the one who spots errors in movies that the editor missed. The one who corrects grammar like nobodies' bussiness. The one who sees every.minute.detail.

BUT THIS!?!?! how could i miss something so marvelous?!
Think about it...
Vanilla:
Buttery-smooth flavor. Comes in every possible form.. Even car air fresheners. The most popular, collective flavor on this planet as of 2012.

Ice:
Instant cool factor. Any drink without it is dismal. It's like magic!

PUT THEM TOGETHER...
And not only do you have a suuuuhh-weet combination of sugary sweet and ice cold, but a name that is so hardcore that all da homiez in Long Beach wish they were reppin'it. too much?

In honor of my man, Vanilla, (yeah, we are THAT close that he lets me shorten his name. Nbd) we decided to cook MC's like a pound of bacon Wait. You don't get that song reference? Either google it or leave, NOW. and had a crazy dope (another Ice reference!) dance party with Vanilla's hottest jam pumpin' through the house speakers.

Even my two year old brother got down with his bad self.

It was that crazy.

happy thursday! {ed. 9}

A couple signs of Summer:
-You forget to shower because you are too busy... doing nothing.
-The promise you made to yourself to "drink more water" at the beginning is now a joke due to the fact that walking to the kitchen is too far.
-Night runs are no longer creepy and the fear of being kidnapped has since fled. Rather, they are now ridiculously refreshing because that is the only time the California sun decides to take a short break of burning the flesh and in turn I can sweat off the box of Ho-Hos i ate earlier in the day. summer diet? hahahaha yeah, right.
-You forget what day of the week it is.

The last one happened to me today. You know, since my weekly schedule is packed to the brim with... doing nothing. Hey, stop judging me! Yes, you! Don't look around and act innocent! And for the record, you are no better than I! After all, you are sitting, looking blankly at a computer screen reading my blog. Who's the one with no life now, hmmmmm?

Thankfully my good friend Anthony (you got a shout out in my blog, buddy! Be sure to document this moment in your diary!) texted me today with a sweet/reminding "Happy Thursday!" So we should all tell dear Anthony a big ol'"THANK YOU!" because we all know how horrible our Thursday would have been if my weekly post didn't get put put up! Righhhht?! Am I right?!?! Hello...? Is anyone listening?! Whatev. I'm done.

Current Female Crush
Kelly Bishop
She plays the matriach/crazed-menopausal/retired dancer on my new favorite show. Bunheads. She looks kind of evil (just enough to instill fear), wears jewel tones like no one's business, uses eyeliner up the wa-zoo and shouts "Hey Scotty!" at a bar and begins swing dancing with him. Plus her name on the show is Fanny Flowers... Way cool, I know. She is probably the coolest old woman I have ever seen on ABC Family... And that's saying a lot. Believe me.

Current Male Crush:
Sam Cutillo
Am I biased because he is my own flesh and blood? Maaaaybe. Is he the cutest thing since I was an afro-headed toddler 16 years ago? Not likely, but close. Is he my favorite? Yes. I am confident in saying that he will have the most muscular calves when he is a grown boy due to the fact he runs laps up and down the hallway on his tippy-toes. He doesn't require too much attention, eats my cooking, has luscious locks (that's how I know we are related, just sayin') a total goofball (see picture above) and a laugh that makes me melt. Yeah, he is pretty much the best.

Current Tune:

Man on Fire By Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
They are sooooooo fabulous (coming in at a close second to Coldplay for fave band EVER) and this song on their new album makes me want to dance and sit in a field of wild flowers, making flower crowns. I love how this video is all about dance. Dancing is my release, and it is so great to see all of these people expressing themselves through dance to a pretty groovy tune.

Current Quote:
I LOVE this.

Happy Thursday!

How a 2 year old de-stresses:

With the arrival of the triplets two years ago came an abundance of knowledge. The Cutillo Clan are now experts in that which regards any-survival skill and or emergency situation. If you want to learn for yourself go on down to the multiple supermarket and pick up your own! But before you do, here are a couple of things we've learned along the way from Jack, Sam and Carly. You know, to just warn you before you dive into the realm that few get out of: TRIPLET ZONE! DUN.DUN.DUN!

-How to change 3 diapers in 1:30 flat. Your skillz become sharpened like you'd never believe.
-How to turn a room full of blood curdling screams into a cove of serenity and come out slightly unscathed. It's a work in progress...
-How to scarf down an entire meal in 5 minutes. They are so divalicous and demanding of my attention! Geez louise!
-How to make someone burst into immense amounts of laughter all with one move of the facial muscle. Is my face really THAT funny?! Should I be offended or something?!
-How to decipher toddle-talk into a coherent language. I swear it is more difficult than Mandarin.
-How to dance to the music in Nick Jr with a smile on. Probably my toughest area because I am SUCH a music critic. Children music is included.
-How to become an expert in the horse-trollop-while-a-child-is-on-your-shoulders. The ultimate test of endurance and physical fitness.

Just recently, Miss Carly Christina taught me a valuable life lesson. The Cutillo Clan's resident "Big Man on Campus" coming in at a whoppin' 3 feet 8 inches and 36 pounds of all muscle, Jack, decided to pick a fight with Carly because she was playing with his trucks. I am serious you guys, I was genuinely afraid of his reaction. It was kind of like how Charlie Sheen would react if you broke into his stash of Tiger Blood. **Yeah, that bad.

But instead of reacting like a crazed lunatic that had something illegal running through her veins she took the high road, sat down, laughed and played with blocks. Teaching me that when life gets rocky, to go away and enjoy the little things.

**After a brief stint baby rehab time out Jack has emerged a new man, anger free and all.. hahahahahahahahaha. Wishful thinking.

dream pick-up lines

BYU is the mecca of dating. end.of.story.

It's great, really. But with the multitude of glorious dating with handsome RMs comes the awkward "ask me out on a date" phase.
Come on boys... You can sooo tell that a female is into you when she asks where you went on your mission and once you tell her she replies with an, "OOO! How awesome! What language did you speak? Say something in enter foreign language for me!" *said in flirty, cooey voice*

So why can some of these boys men not catch the drift that we women put out?
The ones we want to ask us out rarely do, then we are left going out with the creepy guy that sits next to you in Honors Biology  who eats Cheddar Pringles during class then rubes his fingers on you thinking it is "flirtatious." i may or may not be speaking from experience...

I mean, I have a lot of things going against me.. Maybe that's why I am in this predicament. I am not obsessed with classic actresses like most, I enjoy science textbooks far too much, I watch romantic comedies pause them in order to comment on what is going on to myself, I refuse to follow the 5-second rule and I hate that waiting phase of asking out. Is there a place for me in this dating world?!?!

So here are my dream pick-up lines to use in order to avoid that dreaded phase:

  • "Oh hey, wanna come to my apartment, make mac n' cheese and then watch Pride & Prejudice? I'll let you comment on Mr. Darcy the entire time."
  • "Oh hey, wanna go to the mall, sit in the food court and people watch for an hour? Then we can hit up Sbarros pizza. I'll even get you a bread stick."
  • "Oh hey, wanna go to the HBLL and actually study? We will go to the tiny nooks on the fourth floor and will only break once every two hours."
  • "Oh hey, wanna have a movie night at my place where I'll invite all my friends and you can invite all of yours? Whoa, do you do your own nail art? It's so cool!"
  • "Oh hey, do you want to see who can chug an entire water bottle in 30 seconds without stopping? I love how fresh your skin looks, by the way!"
  • "Oh hey, do you want to help me plan a crazy, awesome prank on my roommate and then we will go get some frozen yogurt? Your blog is hilarious."
  • "Oh hey, do you want to have a competition to see who can drive better with their knees?"

So until Mr. Casanova comes strolling along, using these lines, I will sit and watch Crazy, Stupid Love making sure I pause on that heavenly Ryan Gossling part.
Don't act like you don't know what part I am talking about. You know you liked it too.

happy thursday! {ed. 8}

SO WERE YOU AS FLOORED AS ME?!? Wait, why are you looking at me like that.. You don't remember about the Kim Zoliack-Biermann hair reveal!
OH THE HORROR!
I don't know if our relationship will heal from this... I thought you would care about something important to me.. But whatev. Come pick up your stuff; I'll throw it in a cardboard box and leave it on the front porch.
I.don't.even.want.to.see.your.face.
Sorry, sometimes I run off on tangents...
Well for those of you who had a legitimate excuse (such as having a dying dog or choking on asparagus) as to why you didn't watch her show, I will give you the mercy medal and show you the huge surprise! (that mercy medal is awarded very rarely in my life, feel privileged... Very privileged.)
Drum roll please.......
 Crrrraaaaazyyy!
Personally, I like the no-wig look... But enough about hair. This ain't no hair salon! This is a classy, mature blog where we talk about important issues! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Back to the scheduled programming:

Current Female Crush(es):
Aunt Frances and Jet Owens (From Practical Magic)
This is one of my favorite movies of all time! I am a sucker for any movies related to witches, especially when they take place on the East coast (Can you say Hocus Pocus?! HEY-YO!) They are the coolest aunts, EVER! When Sally and Gillian moved into their house they said the following line:
"In this house ... we have chocolate cake for breakfast. And we never bother with silly little things like bedtimes or brushing our teeth."
How awesome is that?!?!? I don't know if I would be cool with the non-enforcement of teeth brushing, but chocolate cake for breakfast is any gals dream!

Current Male Crush:
Julian Morris
He plays the resident hottie doctor on Pretty Little Liars. And he is British. And he loves literature. Need I say more? Excuse me while I wipe my drool... Sigggghhhh.

Current Tune:
Young, Dumb and In Love By Mat Kearney.
Mat is my absolute favorite. When I saw him in concert in February in Salt Lake so many of my life's dreams came to life. This song embodies so many amazing memories. I hope this gets you in a happy, dance-y place like it does for me :)

Current Quote:
He said it best. Like always.

Happy Thursday!
p.s. I hope your dog is okay and you have learned your lesson about stuffing your face with more asparagus than you can handle...

insane in the membrane {ed. 2}

It's that time again... You know, that time where you start speaking in a foreign tongue that has not been established as a language by a linguist at random intervals, having your little sister pull you down the tile hallway instead of walking because it "stretches the hamstrings" total lie, btw. I just am finding alternatives to walking. Totes fun, if I might add. and softly humming Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" every night as you sleep because it give you that warm feeling in you tummy like when you were five.

WAIT. You're meaning to tell me you don't do that when you are feeling a little lot of loopy?!
*nervous laugh* Hahahahaha, yeah.. Me neither! Whomever would do that is a bonaifde lunatic who needs to find a home in the loony-bin! HAHAHAHA.... Not me... Hahaha...

ANYWHO! To release some crrrrraaazzzy steam here is part deux of this wacky post.
Say the last part in Harry's voice. It makes this picture that much more enjoyable and true!

Wait for it.... AHH! There it is! You two would have never worked. Obvi.
That song of hers is ridiculously over-played and depressing. BUT this makes me hate the song less and giggle.
A-TO-THA-MEN!

Excpt mine doesn't have the frame.. It is that barren.

She had all of our blood boiling. Evil fiend disguised in a pink frou-frou get out of Harry's life!
My final warning to all of you.
*Shiver*
...and if it's not I pray I will have the self control to  not harm those in my vicinity.
The girl sitting next to them: "what chuu doing to da baby? Shoot, you gonna hurt him! I ain't playin with chuu, cut it out!"
i'm done. sorry.
I knew that they all had a sense of humor! The history books just like to focus on the wars and debt and other irrelevant things. Let's focus on the jokes they told! Can I get an amen?!? CAN I GET AN AMEN?!? ...hello? Is anyone there?
Don't even try to say you have not done any of these. DON'T EVEN TRY.
The purpose of this is to give you the push you need to begin training uber hard for the Zombie Apocalypse... Yeah, the P-90X might hurt now but you'll be thanking me later when they aren't eating your liver and slurping your brain juice! Too much?
Never noticed until now.It all makes so much sense now...
This had me going for a solid 3 minutes... Imagine it. Laugh, go on... Don't feel bad. Hard fruits hitting faces is HILARIOUS! Didn't you know?
Another U2 joke.. I just got myself stuck in a moment that I couldn't get out of! What can I say?! Swoooosh! Another U2 joke! Can you spot it? I'm too funny, too
funny! not really...

I hope these made you giggle even slightly as much as they did to me... Because I sounded like a choking Alfalfa when I saw these! Not a pretty sight/sound, I tell you.

June 4, 2012

i know the heart of life is good

Despite the Fact...
that I wake up earlier than any sane person should. Can you say walking zombie in the morning?! And don't even get me started on what my hair looks like at that time. For some reason my hair and 5 a.m. do not cohabitate well...

that the DirectTV man caused me to get in a little fender bender then ran away like a little sissy. MAN UP BUDDY BOY! iknowwhereyouwork.

that my deathly-allergy to cats is in full swing due to the fact someone decided to get a pet cat... Oh no  biggy guys, I will just hang out in the bathroom all day long since it is the only place that thing  hasn't been. *shiver* Excuse me while I stop breathing and die...

that the woman at Sears refused to smile at me, no matter how much I smiled at her (I actually looked quite silly in my attempt....)
I mean seriously! Smiling at me does not mean you will have to sign a contract saying we are besties til da end. I simply want to see your pearly whites! Is that too much to ask?!

that the Pretty Little Liars season premiere is on tomorrow night. I.WANT.IT.NOW.NOW.NOW.NOW! Sorry. Sometimes my inner Veruca Salt comes out.... Hehehe.

that I ate my red velvet cream cheese cannoli too fast... Oh how desperately I want those precious moments between the two of us back. I was selfish and took advantage of you, and I am forever sorry....

that I dropped a Pediasure can on my foot and now have a black bruise that is polluting the surface in it's entirety. You 100 calorie-in-liquid-form-evil-being, I loathe you! And btw, on your can it says "Tastes like a Homemade Vanilla Milkshake!" yeah, a homemade vanilla milkshake made from a dirty blender and rotten ice cream! barf.

But my boy, John, brings it all into perspective with this song:

Because after all, no matter what we may go through we all have it pretty amazing. Remember that while you jam to Johnny boy and admire his raspy, sexy, buttery-smooth voice. My oh my... Okay. I'm done. But John... Sorry. This time it's for real.

June 2, 2012

a letter to pit bull:

Dear Mr. Bull,

Is that what they call you? Mr. Bull? I am not sure due to the fact that I am not familiar with anybody who uses the species of the K-9 group as their name... So to avoid stepping on any of your toes I will address you as Mr. Bull for the remainder of this letter (simply because I know how egotistical some performers can get...)

Here's the thing, Mr. Bull: why are you in everyone's songs? No really, please enlighten me. Every time I turn on the radio and begin to jam to a new, hip song your voice interrupts it in the dance-break portion of the song. I understood when you collaborated with J-LO, T-Pain and Lil' John but then you did a song with Marc Anthony. I repeat, you did a song with Marc Anthony. Really Pit Bull, reeeeeaaaaalllly? I know that your intentions were good, thinking, "Hey! Maybe if I help him out then he will become cooler and people will stop making fun of him for being the lesser in the J-LO/Marc relationship!" I'm sorry, but you didn't help him out... Is it too demanding of me to ask you to go on a music-hiatus for a little while? I just want to be able to dance like nobodies business to a couple of songs without having you come through my speakers saying something about "Miami" or "Cuban girls"... I'm only asking for a couple of songs, that's it.

Sincerely,
Someone Who Wants Their Music Back.
