happy thursday! {ed. 9}

A couple signs of Summer:
-You forget to shower because you are too busy... doing nothing.
-The promise you made to yourself to "drink more water" at the beginning is now a joke due to the fact that walking to the kitchen is too far.
-Night runs are no longer creepy and the fear of being kidnapped has since fled. Rather, they are now ridiculously refreshing because that is the only time the California sun decides to take a short break of burning the flesh and in turn I can sweat off the box of Ho-Hos i ate earlier in the day. summer diet? hahahaha yeah, right.
-You forget what day of the week it is.

The last one happened to me today. You know, since my weekly schedule is packed to the brim with... doing nothing. Hey, stop judging me! Yes, you! Don't look around and act innocent! And for the record, you are no better than I! After all, you are sitting, looking blankly at a computer screen reading my blog. Who's the one with no life now, hmmmmm?

Thankfully my good friend Anthony (you got a shout out in my blog, buddy! Be sure to document this moment in your diary!) texted me today with a sweet/reminding "Happy Thursday!" So we should all tell dear Anthony a big ol'"THANK YOU!" because we all know how horrible our Thursday would have been if my weekly post didn't get put put up! Righhhht?! Am I right?!?! Hello...? Is anyone listening?! Whatev. I'm done.

She plays the matriach/crazed-menopausal/retired dancer on my new favorite show. Bunheads. She looks kind of evil (just enough to instill fear), wears jewel tones like no one's business, uses eyeliner up the wa-zoo and shouts "Hey Scotty!" at a bar and begins swing dancing with him. Plus her name on the show is Fanny Flowers... Way cool, I know. She is probably the coolest old woman I have ever seen on ABC Family... And that's saying a lot. Believe me.

Am I biased because he is my own flesh and blood? Maaaaybe. Is he the cutest thing since I was an afro-headed toddler 16 years ago? Not likely, but close. Is he my favorite? Yes. I am confident in saying that he will have the most muscular calves when he is a grown boy due to the fact he runs laps up and down the hallway on his tippy-toes. He doesn't require too much attention, eats my cooking, has luscious locks (that's how I know we are related, just sayin') a total goofball (see picture above) and a laugh that makes me melt. Yeah, he is pretty much the best.

Man on Fire By Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros

They are sooooooo fabulous (coming in at a close second to Coldplay for fave band EVER) and this song on their new album makes me want to dance and sit in a field of wild flowers, making flower crowns. I love how this video is all about dance. Dancing is my release, and it is so great to see all of these people expressing themselves through dance to a pretty groovy tune.
